Winter spring
There is actually a word in Swedish to describe a day like today, when all the signs of winter are still present - snow, freezing temperatures, icy paths - but spring is also making itself felt in the light, the (relative) warmth in the sun, the birds venturing outside a bit more: it is definitely vår vinter.
So we had to go out and enjoy the light, the sun, the beautiful landscapes before they disappear later in the week - clouds and milder days mean greyness and slushiness... So we went along the north side of Kungsholmen, past S:t Eriksgatan and then crossed back over towards Huvudsta, in search of farm animals that I had once spotted as I was jogging along the water. Indeed they were there today as well, to everyone's delight! Horses, Shetland poneys, goats, sheep, rabbits, hens and cockerels, all happily enjoying the sun, just like us.
Idyllic place really, where we'll definitely have to come back in the summer: a mini-theatre is operating then and an open-air pool is also available next door to the horses' fields. Great discovery, only 5 or 6 km from home, which both Lili and Otto covered on foot with (almost) no protests.
