In the woods
The week was busy, as planned, and the weekend came and went in a whirlwind, as usual...Pete and I started it with going out (yes!) to a concert: PJ Harvey was in town and we had decided to go and see her. She played at Filadelfia Kyrkan, a stone's throw from home and since we had missed her last time she made the trip to Scandinavia, this time we were not going to miss the opportunity. It was brilliant! What a great artist, musician and writer! Since our trolls were in good hands with Josefin looking after them, we even prolonged our feeling of freedom (so rare...) for a couple of hours - we had a drink and a crème brûlée at Café Paname, where our friend Julien usually works :-)
Saturday morning took us to Djurgården, to pay a visit to Manilla Skolan, the school for children in need of sign language. Most pupils are deaf there, but not only, so we were curious to see if the environment would fit our Pops next autumn. We still need to enquire further but we have already established that Lili can attend sign language classes there this term, and Otto will soon be able to too. Sweden never ceases to amaze me when it comes to help and support for children with difficulties and their nearest and dearest.
Sunday was a big rush involving housework duties and party invitation. Unfortunately we all had to calm down when Lili discovered she had ear-ache and was sick as a result...Quiet evening, early night (for some, anyway). Lili is homebound for a few days, just before half-term. Hopefully a steady regime of Mary Poppins and paracetamol should help!
Edit of tuesday afternoon: a little quote I stumbled upon today and that I suddenly thought was very appropriate : "Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall", The Great Gatsby.
