Visiting Alfons

Today was Lili's Scouts Day - hundreds of scouts gathered in Skansen for a happy competition between their respective groups. Pete had offered to help out so he was also off at 7.30am!

Which left me at home with two jolly trolls for the day...Since it was neither snow-storming (like last Saturday) nor sleat-raining, I felt confident I could go out and not get absolutely drenched or frozen :-) . Off to Stadmuseum, then, where an exhibition about Alfons Åberg opened not so long ago.

Alfons Åberg is a very famous book character here in Sweden. He has been around for a while and it was actually to celebrate of his 40th birthday that the museum had him and his world as special guests.

Poppy seemed to recognize the little boy - she has seen him many times at school but also at home, as we have a couple of DVD versions of his adventures in sign language.

Otto whizzed through the few rooms and was more interested in the adjacent playroom, but he had fun too. A shame the whole place was so busy, though. I guess it demonstrated how truly popular Alfons is!
