Paddling again
This is Sweden: ten days ago we had blizzards and sticky snow, but today everyone felt like going to the beach to enjoy the beautiful sunshine and pleasant temperature... Quite a contrast, eh!
Our destination did not matter too much according to our young troops, as long as we got to a place where there was water, generous sand and possibilities to buy ice-cream nearby. So we ended up at Stockholm's Kajak Klubb, a relaxed little place overlooking the Mälaren on the south side of Kungsholmen. Much busier in the real summer, but very quiet today.
The water was still veeeeeery cold but this detail did not deter our brave paddlers: both Otto and Lili took their shoes off and had a jolly good splash on several occasions. Necessary to be able to play "sandy socks", a new game created for the occasion. Lili pretty much won, who got sandy socks knee high after a brave spring into the cold lake. Poppy enjoyed sitting in such a giant sandpit. Pete had forty winks on the beach. And we finally found some ice-creams, halfway on our cylce ride home. Mission " first beach afternoon of the year" accomplished.
