More slopes and the star of the day
Today it was Otto who was attending a party, so Pete was left with all his girls! We went for a stroll just after lunch, despite the grey sky and low temperatures. On Tegnerlunden, at the end of our street, an isbana has been created, which is basically a super slippery slide made of ice, down the little hill normally covered with grass. Good job that the municipality has thought of everything: a big foam matress is wrapped around the bench at the bottom of the hill, in case anyone should land directly into it (quite likely as well). Poppy enjoyed the rides on her daddy's lap, Lili was sliding on her bottom and having great fun.
Back home Lili and I made a "galette des rois", ie a puff pastry sweet pie normally filled with a mix of egg, sugar and marzipan but this time replaced with a (rich) chocolate sauce. Instead of the traditional round shape, we decided to make a big star, with each child's initial cut out in pastry on top. The little "fève" or porslin figure was hidden in the filling, as is the custom. Pete was the lucky one who found it when we each got a slice. Otto was disappointed, but he smiled again when he got to wear the crown which Lili had made out of paper a minute before. Poppy was also a princess, of course.
