Finnhamn
The National Day was celebrated all over Stockholm but instead of joining the blue-and-yellow parades and concerts, we took a boat towards Finnhamn, a fairly quiet island situated a little bit more than 2 hours away from the centre of the city. The boat was super busy with weekenders, but not so many travelled all the way to Finnhamn just for the day.
What a lovely place! All green and calm, in full blossom as everything is late after the loooooong winter. We admired the abundance of wild lily-of-the-valley flowers, we took some narrow paths that led us to tiny beaches, sat on rocks and pontoons to eat our picnics and even took a dip in the, errhh, fresh water (14 degrees?). Let the archipelago season begin, we are ready!
