Last ride before Christmas

Today was Poppy's last riding session for the term. The light was beautiful on the way there - we walk about 3km there and 3 km back in the dark, it was certainly... refreshing today in the snow, thermometre read minus 3...

We can't wait to start again, at the end of January. Poppy has really enjoyed every minute of her encounters with the horses: today it was Fylkur, but it was sometimes Skramur, Gneisti, Manna or Hrokur (quite a lot of Icelandic names). All super calm and strong horses, Poppy has learned to know them, they have all received hugs and strokes from her. What a finding, this riding school!

Have been looking at all your lovely walks and fun times in the snow....but my favourite is Pops on her pony! It is so lovely that Pops connects with the horses so well....it is strange that sometimes the communication does not rely on speaking!
