Liljeholmsbadet
The first year we lived in Stockholm, we used to cycle all the way from Östermalm to Södermalm, via Kungsholmen or Gamla Stan, to take Lili to Erikdalsbadet's "äventyr bassäng", i e the children's adventure pool in the big watersports centre. This was when we only had one child and felt much more mobile on two wheels...On the occasion of these cycling trips, we often passed Liljeholmsbadet, a charming little old-fashioned pool which seemed to be floating on lake Mälaren. Almost seven years down the line, we still had never been inside it before today! When I discovered that the municipality boasted a 30 degree pool open to families-only on Saturdays, I decided we had to make a trip to check it out!
So today was our first experience of the lovely Liljeholmsbadet, which charmed us all. An originally reluctant Lili (who wanted to go ice-skating instead of swimming...) was won over by the 16.7 m pool, shallow enough at one end but deep on the other side. Poppy appreciated the warmth and splashed happily for a whole hour. Otto demonstrated that he could almost swim without armbands, no fear! Pete and I are quite tired tonight, I guess we used up quite a lot of energy to entertain our three fishes in the water for the best part of 75mn.
Another "first" made this day quite exciting too - after the swim, everyone was so hungry that we ended up in the first nearby restaurant we could find. It turned out to be a Chinese one, and was a fairly good success too. Lili gulped down bowl after bowl of flat noodles, Otto experimented with chop-sticks and Poppy enjoyed the red and green peppers in soy sauce...Well I never!
Everyone collapsed in front of Kung-Fu Panda once home. Because of the noodles, of course. The few sledge runs down the slopes in Tanto might have contributed too...
