Day off

DSCN0707

I normally spend my Tuesdays at work but today I took a day off as I have to go in on Friday, which is my usual day off. It is all relative, though. Here is a quick summary of my "idle" day: I got up at 6.20am, prepared breakfast for everyone; got Otto and Pops ready (Pete took care of Lili) and walked to pre-school with them; went to Lili's leisure centre round the corner to drop her thick gloves - she needed them for her afternoon ice-skating session but forgot them; went for a 6K run from Kungsgatan to the third bridge with Norrmalm and back; had a quick shower; looked up a recipe for "Ham and cheddar muffins" that I fancied making for the little ones tonight; made the muffins; made two meals worth of Bolognese sauce; made two meals worth of vegetarian chili con carne (?); had a quick bowl of soup for lunch; took the family's washing to the tvättstuga (laundry room downstairs); hoovered rounf the flat; took the bags of cardboard/paper/plastic/metal to the recycling bank; went to collect a parcel at the post-office; did some shopping on the way back; collected and folded the rest of the washing; went to collect Otto and Poppy from nursery; stopped at Myrorna on the way; got a handful of vintage Corgi mini cars and an old miniature fire engine; walked home with the little ones; built a train-track on their bedroom's rug; re-heated the muffins; peeled some carrots; made a whole vat of veggie tomato sauce to go with the muffins; had a cup of tea; helped Poppy and Otto with their dinner...when Pete and Lili got home from cello.

There. An easy and relaxed day. It did felt like it, though! Had not spent so much time cooking for a long while!

- the picture is taken from Barnbron, the bridge connecting Norrmalm to Kungsholmen, just round the corner from our house.
